Walsall welcomed Tranmere Rovers to the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they looked to return to winning ways following last weekend's draw with Fleetwood Town.
Looking to build upon their recent unbeaten spell, it was the Saddlers that took the lead as Evan Weir scored another screamer to register his second goal of the season with just nine minutes on the clock.
The visitors levelled the scores some seven minutes before the break when Joe Ironside opened his account for the season after getting on the end of a Josh Davison cross.
Evan Weir grabbed his and Walsall's second goal of the game on the stroke of half-time. Another fine finish from the defender, who is enjoying a strong start to the new campaign.
Walsall grabbed their third goal of the game just after the match reached the hour mark as on-loan Charlton Athletic striker Daniel Kanu grabbed his third goal in as many games to gve the Saddlers a welcome buffer.
Rovers cut the Saddlers' lead to just one goal late in the game went second-half substitute Billy Blackersaw a long-range effort deflect beyond Myles Roberts and into the back of the net.
Walsall would go on to reestablish their two-goal advantage in second-half stoppage time when Albert Adomah came off the bench to add his 101st goal of what has been a stellar career.
