Walsall Duo Facing 'Significant' Spells on the Sidelines

The pair were forced off as the Saddlers slipped to defeat against the Mariners.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC NewsWalsall boss Mat Sadler expects defender Mason Hancock and striker Jonny Stuttle to miss extended periods on the sidelines after they suffered what appeared to be significant injuries during Tuesday's defeat to Grimsby Town.

The duo, who were part of a summer of change at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium, were forced off with injuries either side of half-time, as the club now faces a nervous wait as the medical department assesses their issues.

Speaking to the assembled media, Sadler said: "It was gutting for them that they've gone down injured, and we hope that they're ok, although I think they're going to be out for a significant time. It looked like that to me as well.

"I haven't properly had a chance to see either of them, but they didn't look like good ones, so both of them could be out for a time.

"Difficult circumstances when that happens to two players, and it just unsettles things. We'll see what the injuries are.

"It looks significant, but the only saving grace when you have two big ones like that is that the window is still open."
