Walsall boss Mat Sadler insisted his side deserved to take at least a point from their midweek meeting with Grimsby Town, after seeing them slip to a narrow defeat at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium.
Both the Saddlers and Mariners created a handful of promising openings, but it was the visitors who would take all three points after Evan Khouri netted the only goal of the game midway through the second-half.
Speaking to the the assembled media, Sadler also believes the Saddlers should have had a goal of their own after Albert Adomah saw an effort ruled out for offside.
He said: "I thought [a point] is the least we deserved.
"From the video footage we've got, it was onside, so it's frustrating when it doesn't go your way.
"You need those ones to go your way. What I will say for the linesman's point of view is that Coxy is that side of him, and he probably didn't see the guy on the other side.
"It didn't create that grandstand that the supporters deserved, but we kept going. We emptied the tank and that's all you can really ask."
