Walsall boss Mat Sadler admitted he was pleased to see his side return to winning ways as they squeezed past Salford City on Saturday afternoon.
Going into the match on the back of a disappointing midweek defeat to Grimsby Town, defender Harrison Burke scored the only goal of the game in the first-half to secure their third win of the 2025/26 League Two campaign.
Speaking to the assembled media, Sadler said: "That was a brilliant performance, an outstanding performance in fact.
"In the first thirty minutes, the only disappointment is that we didn't score a couple more goals in that spell.
"Really pleased it comes from a set play. Harrison and Aden are massive threats with Aaron in those areas.
"We were front-foot, we really took the game to them in that opening period and deservedly went 1-0 up.
"The only disappointment in the second half was that there wasn't more in the score-line.
"Really pleasing, some really positive signs from the team, especially off the back of three very tough games. It's a tough week, but it's been a real effort.
"The legs that we showed, the energy that we showed, the organisation and the discipline was really pleasing."
