Walsall Sign Australian Midfielder Jake Hollman

The Saddlers have added an option to their midfield as the summer rebuild continues.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC NewsWalsall have completed the signing of former Macarthur FC midfielder Jake Hollman, who has signed a two-year deal at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium.

23-year-old midfielder Hollman, whose contract includes the option of a further year, has made over a century of appearances for Macarthur, playing his part in two Australia Cup wins in 2022 and 2024.

An Australia Under-32 international, he also found the net 16 times during his time at Macarthur and also played six times in the AFC Cup – now known as AFC Champions League Two.

Head Coach Mat Sadler is thrilled to add Hollman to the squad. Speaking via the club's official website, he said: "I’m delighted Jake is joining us.

"He’s had a fantastic season in the A-League in Australia and it’s the first time we’ve done a transfer like this and we had to jump through a lot of hoops. “It’s taken a bit longer than we thought at the outset but we felt he was worth the wait and we look forward to seeing him play.

"He’s a bright, energetic and creative attacking midfield player who comes into that category of wanting to get better, wanting to improve and wanting to show what he’s all about.

"Jake has been champing at the bit whilst waiting for everything to go through so we’ve got a player who is desperate and excited to be at the club and really looking forward to the challenge of what the English football season gives us so I’m very pleased to get this one done."
