Winning just two of their last nine games, the young Saddlers were hoping to get back to winning ways as they and the visiting Millers met in an 11.00am kick-off in Great Barr.
WALSALL TEAM
Kilroy; Harris. Wain, Bennett, Oliver, Pawlawski, Oben, Webb, Gibson, Preece, Leydon
Substitutes: Barber; Bunn, Khan, Robinson, Kameni
Sadly for the young Saddlers, they were unable to take anything from the game as two Rotherham goals, the first coming three minutes into the first-half, before a second was added in second-half stoppage time, proved to be enough to separate the sides.
Walsall struggled to create much of note over the course of the contest, with their best goal-scoring opportunity seeing Louie Webb send an effort off the crossbar from an acute angle as he looked to get around the goalkeeper.
Though far from a thrashing, the Saddlers will be disappointed to have been on the wrong end of a narrow result, as their struggles show little sign of coming to an end.
