The Club has confirmed the signing of Burton Albion midfielder Charlie Lakin, who has penned a two-year contract at the Poundland Bescot Stadium.
The 25-year-old, who was born in Solihull, enjoyed a successful spell on loan at Sutton United in Sky Bet League Two in the second half of the 2023/24 season.
Though he started the campaign on loan at AFC Wimbledon before making the switch to the VBS Community Stadium in January where he scored eight goals and notched up five assists.
His standout performances for the Amber & Chocolates earned him their Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season awards despite only being at the club for half of the campaign.
Lakin, who had a brief spell in the Walsall Academy as an Under-9, went on to join Birmingham City where he worked his way through the ranks at St Andrew's, making his debut in January 2018, in an Emirates FA Cup tie against Huddersfield Town.
He played eleven times during the 2018/19 season before he ventured out on loan to Stevenage and Ross County in the 2019/20 season and 2020/21 season respectively.
Leaving the Blues in the summer of 2021, Charlie then joined Burton after putting pen-to-paper on a three-year deal that will expire in the next few days.
