Four Released as Walsall Prepare for the New Campaign

A handful of players will be seeking employment elsewhere later this summer.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC NewsWalsall have confirmed which players will remain at the club with several others also informed that their futures lie away from the Poundland Bescot Stadium

Along with the five loanees returning to their parent clubs are Owen Evans, Rollin Menayese, Joe Riley, and Aramide Oteh, who will not be offered fresh terms in WS1.

Evans, who joined the club from Cheltenham Town in the summer of 2022, made twenty-six first-team appearances last season, but, following an injury, lost his first-choice status to Jackson Smith, leaving him stranded on the bench for much of the campaign.

Defender Rollin Menayese also struggled for game-time last season with the former Newport County man spending some of the season on-loan with Aldershot Town.

Rollin did make something of an impact in a Walsall shirt, however, as he netted a crucial goal as the Saddlers held Barrow to a one-all draw in March.

Joe Riley signed for the Saddlers from Carlisle United in 2022 but saw his 2023/24 season rocked by a series of injuries, with the right-sided midfielder managing just nineteen first-team appearances.

Aramide Oteh was another victim of Walsall's injury curse, with the former loanee who made his return to the Bescot last summer, making just fifteen first-team appearances as he struggled to return to fitness, suffering aa series of injury setbacks.
