PRE-MATCH VIEWS

After thirteen days without a match, the Saddlers will finally be back in action on Good Friday as they take on Milton Keynes Dons in Buckinghamshire.

Winless in their last three games, Mat Sadler's side will be hoping that, as the number of injuries begins to ease, they'll be able to avoid falling further behind in the race for promotion.

Last time out Taylor Allen's first-half goal was cancelled out by Cameron McGeehan early in the second-half as the Saddlers and Colchester United took a share of the spoils.

WALSALL TEAM NEWS

On the injury front, Donervon Daniels, Priestley Farquharson, and Aramide Oteh returned to training this week but remain doubts, whilst Danny Johnson and Jamie Jellis are available for selection. Harry WIlliams remains on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Oisin McEntee and Tom Knowles recently stepped up their recoveries from injury and could still feature before the end of the season, though this is far from guaranteed.

OPPOSITION NEWS

Opponents Milton Keynes Dons sit just outside the automatic promotion places ahead of kick-off, though their last performance put something of a dent in their hopes of returning to League One without a trip to the Play-Offs.

Facing fellow title-chasers Stockport County, Milton Keynes conceded five goals without reply as the Hatters strengthened their position near the top of the table.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

There have been twenty-six competitive meetings between Walsall and MK Dons, and it's the Stadium MK side that hold a small head-to-head advantage having won nine times compared to the Saddlers' seven, with the ten remaining games finishing all square.

The first meeting between the two was a League 1 clash that took place at the National Hockey Stadium on Saturday, 30th October 2004, and saw the spoils shared as Darren Wrack's thirteenth-minute opener was cancelled out by Malvin Kamara thirteen minutes later.

THE LAST TIME WE MET

The most recent meeting was a League Two clash that took place at the Poundland Bescot Stadium on Tuesday, 3rd October 2023 and saw the spoils shared as neither side was able to secure that all-important winning goal.
