Walsall's were back in action on Saturday afternoon as they made their way to St Mary's Stadium where they took on Southampton in the Third Round of this season's Emirates FA Cup.
The first goal of the game went the way of the home side as Ryan Fraser did well to bring down a Taylor Harwood-Bellis pass before popping the ball past Jackson Smith and into the back of the net.
Southampton went on to double their lead twelve minutes into the second forty-five as Sékou Mara slotted home following Ryan Fraser's attacking run down the wing.
The Saints' third goal of the game came ten minutes after the second as Ryan Fraser made the Walsall defence pay for some slack marking with a neat finish into the bottom corner.
Second-half substitute Che Adams added a fourth goal for the home side with around twelve-minutes of the game remaining, Walsall really struggling to compete with their Championship opponents.
