PRE-MATCH NEWS, VIEWS, & TEAM NEWS

Walsall made it three wins in as many games on Saturday afternoon as goals from Liam Gordon and Mo Faal saw Harrogate Town become the latest victim of the recently resurgent Saddlers.

Not only did the result allow them to maintain their advantage over the drop zone, but it also saw the Reds escape the bottom half of the table for the first time since gameweek 25, with Sadler's side sitting ninth in the table ahead of kick-off.

Despite several injuries, including a pretty strong defensive trio in Oisin McEntee, Priestley Farquharson, and captain Donervon Daniels, the team has shown plenty of resilience and is rightfully being rewarded.

Along with the welcome defensive solidity has come a far more potent attack, with Isaac Hutchinson contributing at an incredibly high level, with the former Derby County man surely heading for a clean sweep in the Player of the Season awards.

Obviously, the Saddlers' winning run could very easily be brought to a halt on Tuesday evening, but we are confident the team is more than capable of bouncing back, and, with the Play-Offs just a few tantalising points away, could be set for a superb end to the campaign.

On the injury front, the team remains without the services of several would-be first-teamers as, along with the already mentioned defensive trio, Harry Williams, Jamie Jellis, Aramide Oteh, and Danny Johnson remain on the sidelines.

OPPOSITION NEWS

Visitors Accrington Stanley will reach the match on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Crawley Town and a result that saw them make it two games without a win, with Stanley winning just one of their last five league games.

Desite their recent form, they will have plenty of belief heading into Tuesday's game as they have won their last four meetings with the Saddlers, a run they'll be keen on extending under the lights in WS1.
