Youth Alliance: Walsall 2 Morecambe 3

The young Saddlers were back in action on Saturday afternoon.
Walsall Under-18s returned to action on Saturday afternoon as they welcomed Morecambe to Ray Hall Lane for their latest EFL Youth Alliance outing of the season.

Fresh on the back of last weekend's encouraging 3-2 victory over Salford City - a game that saw Jaiy Leydon continue his superb spell of form by grabbing his fourth and fifth goals in two games, the young Saddlers were looking to continue their promising spell of form.

Sadly for Walsall their spell of form ultimately came to an end as Morecambe were able to bounce back from going two-one down early in the second-half to snatch all three points with a spot-kick late in the second forty-five.

Adam Fairclough scored the game's first and last goals as he opened the scoring midway through the first half before securing the win with a last-minute penalty, joined on the scoresheet by Saul Fox-Akande (59'), their goals proved to be enough to secure the win, despite Piers Juliff initially putting the Saddlers, who had levelled before the break, into the lead early in the second-half.
