Brendan Kiernan started as he and his Grimsby Town made the trip to the EnviroVent Stadium and took on Harrogate Town on Boxing Day.

Kiernan, who has now made some twenty-five first-team appearances for the Mariners, was unable to guide them to victory as Max Crocombe's own goal during second-half stoppage time saw Grimsby suffer their fifth defeat in seven league games.

With the own goal adding to Luke Armstrong's brace, the Sulphurites went on to take all three points, despite goals from Otis Khan (29') and Harry Clifton (49').

Rollin Menayese started and scored as Hartlepool United inflicted a fourth successive defeat on Rochdale, with the Pools earning their second win in as many games in the process.

Menayese opened the scoring six minutes before half-time as he got on the end of a Callum Cooke cross to give his side the advantage heading into the break.

Veteran forward Ian Henderson put Rochdale back on level terms on the hour mark, but that wasn't enough to secure a point as Cooke went on to put Hartlepool back into the lead with a well-taken free-kick.

Peter Clarke started as Oldham suffered their sixth defeat in eight league games as they fell 4-1 to Notts County on Monday afternoon.

The match was a hectic affair, with three goal in the opening nine-minutes, however, the Latics were unable to secure as much as a point as goals from Cedwyn Scott (3', 43') Kyle Cameron (9'), and Ruben Rodrigues (41') were enough to cancel out Joe Nuttall's first-half leveller as Oldham's issues continued.

Joe Foulkes was among the starters as Kidderminster Harriers made the short trip to Edgar Street and took on Hereford FC.

The match was settled by just one goal as Jack Bearne's first-half effort was enough to secure three welcome points for Russ Penn's side.

Joe played for the full game, picking up a booking twenty-minutes into the first forty-five.

Meanwhile, Sam Perry wasn't involved as Yeovil Town and Torquay United played out a one-all draw at Plainmoor. Malachi Linton netted for the Glovers as they were made to settle for a point.
