PRE-MATCH VIEWS

Michael Flynn and his Saddlers arrive at this weekend's match on the back of a comfortable 3-1 victory over Harrogate Town, and a performance that did wonders for the morale of fans and players alike.

Goals from Danny Johnson, Liam Gordon, and Isaac Hutchinson saw the Reds end a two-game winless run and continue their steady climb up the League Two table.

As injuries continue to blight the first-team, it's reassuring to see the rest of the squad is more than capable of taking another team to task, even if they were a side which had also suffered a disappointing run of form.

Rochdale are winless in their last two League Two games and reach Saturday's match on the back of a midweek draw with Tranmere Rovers, a result which saw the Dale frustrate their Play-Off chasing opponents on the way to a well-deserved point.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Walsall and Rochdale have met on sixty-seven previous occasions, and it's the Saddlers who are on the back foot having secured just twenty-three victories compared to Rochdale's twenty-seven.

There have also been seventeen draws over the history of the fixture, a history which began on Saturday, 24th December 1921, and saw the Dale ease to a more than comfortable seven-nil Division Three (North) win.

THE LAST TIME WE MET

The most recent meeting was a League Two clash which took place at the Crown Oil Arena on Saturday, 9th April 2022, and saw Conor Grant's second-half effort separate the sides as Rochdale took all three points.
