After last weekend's fixtures were postponed as a mark of respect to Her Late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, Walsall returned to action on Tuesday evening as they played host to Colchester United in WS1.
Following an impeccable observed minute's silence in memory of Her Late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, the visitors wasted no time in putting themselves into the lead as Frank Nouble took advantage of some poor defending to put his side ahead.
The Saddlers failed to lay a glove on their opponents for most of the opening forty-five, but were much improved during the second-half, and they were soon rewarded for their endeavours as Tom Knowles levelled the scores following a superb counter-attacking move.
