Officials at Barrow AFC have issued an update into the investigation to identify fans who made 'abhorrent remarks' during the Saddlers' midweek trip to Holker Street.
The remarks, which were about a Walsall supporter who recently lost his life, were made during Barrow's 2-1 victory over the Reds, tainting what should have been a happy occasion for the victorious home side.
However, following a short investigation, Barrow have now confirmed that those involved have been identified and issued with banning orders, meaning they'll no longer be welcome at games.
The statement, released via the Bluebirds' official website, confirms; The Club can today provide the following update, regarding the abhorrent remarks made by a small group of spectators during Tuesday night’s Sky Bet League Two fixture between Barrow and Walsall.
The Club has moved swiftly with the local authorities to identify those involved, using our CCTV system, and today has issued several banning orders to spectators who were involved.
We must take this opportunity to remind everybody that Barrow Association Football Club has a zero tolerance stance on anti-social behaviour, verbal/physical abuse and any other discriminatory remarks or acts.
