PRE-MATCH VIEWS
Walsall arrive at their midweek meeting with Oldham on the back of a welcome win over title-chasing Sutton United, and a result which saw them extend their unbeaten run to four league games.

A first-half Conor Wilkinson penalty was enough o send Sutton back to Gander Green Lane without anything to show for their trip to the Banks's, as Michael Flynn's Reds look to have put their relegation woes on the back-burner.

Opponents Oldham will arrive in WS1 on the back of a late defeat to Swindon Town - Dion Conroy's 90th minute goal breaking Latics' hearts as they suffered their second defeat in a row after going unbeaten in their previous seven.

With the Saddlers currently enjoying a healthy twelve-point advantage over their relegation threatened rivals, a victory would give them an almost insurmountable advantage over the Latics heading into the final nine games of the campaign.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
Walsall and Oldham Athletic have met on sixty-three previous occasions and it's the Saddlers who hold the narrowest of overall win/ loss leads having secured victory on twenty-five occasions compared to the Latics' twenty-three.

There have also been fifteen draws over the history of the fixture, a history which began at Fellows Park on Friday, 10th April 1936 as the two sides met in a Division Three (North) clash which Oldham won by two-goals-to-one.

MAN IN THE MIDDLE
The EFL has confirmed that Ollie Yates, who is based in Staffordshire, will be the man in the middle, whilst Abbas Khan and Richard Woodward have been named assistant referees. Christopher Husband will act as Fourth Official.
