Walsall Head Coach Matthew Taylor has been named among the nominees for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month award for October.

Taylor, who guided the Saddlers to an unbeaten October, picking up some twelve points in the league, has seen his team steadily climb up the table and away from the drop zone.

The Saddlers boss has been named alongside three others, including a namesake and a former Walsall boss, you can see details of the other three nominees below.

Darrell Clarke (Port Vale)
A stellar month for his swashbuckling side, who scored at least three goals in five of their six games. That made 17 in total to add to their 13 October points. Clarke’s tactic of trying to out-score the opposition appears to be working.

Ben Garner (Swindon Town)
A haul of 13 points from six games is impressive enough for a newly-built side, but such is the team spirit engendered by Garner that the four away fixtures in that run were all won, including a clinical 2-0 victory at leaders Forest Green.

Matt Taylor (Exeter City)
If October began with three frustrating draws, the three victories which followed to complete a pleasing unbeaten month lifted Exeter into the promotion picture as Taylor’s new squad of players bedded into his trusted system.

The winner will be announced on Friday, 12th November.

The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies
