Pre-Match News & Views

Walsall make their first competitive trip to Gander Green Lane on Saturday afternoon as they take on Sutton United in their fifteenth game of the league season.

Heading into the match on the back of a six-game all-competition undefeated streak, the Saddlers are in fine form as they take on a Sutton side which has lost two of its last three league games.

Fuelled by their late draw with Barrow, Josh Gordon's 96th-minute strike meaning the Reds were denied the win in disappointing fashion, Matthew Taylor's side will be looking to make amends as they make the trip to South London.

Opponents Sutton have enjoyed a strong start to life in the EFL as they currently sit in the Play-Off places having won half of their fourteen league games.

With Tuesday's comfortable 3-1 victory over Colchester United to build upon, the former National League side no doubt pose a massive threat to the Saddlers unbeaten run.

Man in the Middle

The EFL has confirmed that Carl Boyeson, who is based in East Yorkshire, will be the man in the middle, with Matthew Lee and Stephen Finch named assistant referees. Meanwhile, Joe Simpson will act as Fourth Official.
