Rory Holden to See a Surgeon in Latest Bid to Return From Injury

Walsall Head Coach Matthew Taylor has confirmed that Rory Holden is to see a surgeon as he looks to recover from a long-standing knee injury.

Holden, a former Bristol City playmaker who has the welcome ability to unlock opposition defences, hasn't made a single appearance this season, and has only managed two first-team games in 2021 so far.

Taylor recently spoke of his desire to have Rory available for selection for the recent defeat to Forest Green Rovers last weekend, but the 23-year-old suffered another setback, forcing plans to change.

And now Holden, who is often the subject of transfer speculation thanks to his consistent displays, is set to see a specialist with there being no concrete timeframe for his return.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Matthew said; "He is going to see a surgeon, as and when we have an update, I will let you know.

"The physios have been dealing with it, and hopefully we will have some answers in the next seven to 10 days."
