Walsall Head Coach Matthew Taylor has revealed that some of his recent signings missed Saturday's pre-season clash with Crystal Palace through injury.

Speaking after a Wilfried Zaha goal saw the visiting Eagles secure the win, Taylor confirmed that Conor Wilkinson, Joss Labadie, and Jack Earing had all missed out with minor injuries.

The injuries are not expected to keep the trio out for an extended period of time, with Taylor confirming they're working hard to get back into the fold and play a part in some of the upcoming games.

Speaking to the assembled media, Taylor said; "It is nothing too serious.

"We are talking about guys who know their own bodies. Everyone wants to see them out on the pitch. They are working hard to get out there."

Last weekend's clash with Partick Viera's Premier League Palace saw Taylor field eight of his eleven summer signings, as he looks to sort out his starting line up for the season opener in early August.
