Walsall FC have confirmed that on-loan Birmingham City forward Jayden Reid has returned to his parent club.
In a statement, released via the club's official website, they confirm that they and Birmingham City have mutually agreed to allow Jayden to return to St. Andrew's in order to train and feature in Blues Under 23s matches.
Walsall Head Coach discussed Jayden's loan spell and insisted he had plenty of 'committed' players in the dressing room just waiting to take Reid's place. He said; "Jayden Reid has gone back to Birmingham Under-23s.
"He was a young man frustrated that he’d not had enough minutes and he felt that he would stand a better chance of earning a contract somewhere else next season, whether that’s with Birmingham or another club.
"That’s fine, I totally understand his frustration. I’m disappointed to lose him because Jayden Reid is a talent and obviously has potential.
"I won’t hold anyone here under duress, if they feel that they want to get off the ship and move on, no problem whatsoever.
"We have plenty of committed guys in that changing room who are prepared to fight for Walsall Football Club.
"There’s plenty of depth there but more importantly we need characters who will give 110 per cent to Walsall football club. If people are giving 109 per cent then they’re no good to me."
The 19-year-old has been on loan at the Banks’s Stadium since January but has struggled to make an impact, securing just one appearance for Dutton’s struggling side.
