After two waterlogged pitches gave the Saddlers over a week without competitive football, they returned to action on Tuesday evening as they played host to Mansfield Town in one of their rearranged outings.
The first goal of the game came via one of the Saddlers' Deadline Day signings as on-loan Lincoln City defender Max Melbourne started his spell in fine fettle, giving Walsall the lead halfway through the opening forty-five.
The Saddlers were unable to keep hold of their lead for long as early substitute Ollie Clarke levelled the scores, giving the in-form Stags something to build upon as they looked to take the game to their hosts.
