Walsall FC Deny Press Claims of a Deal to Sell Elijah Adebayo

Officials at Walsall FC have released the following statement.
The statement, which you can read below, comes after a week of speculation regarding the future of top-scorer Elijah Adebayo, who has been linked with a move to Scottish Championship side, Hearts.

Released via the club's official website, the statement reads; Walsall Football Club would like to place on record, in response to press speculation that has circulated this morning, that there is no truth whatsoever that we have agreed terms with any club to sell Elijah Adebayo.

Despite the club's denials it remains a fact that Elijah, who bagged a brace during Saturday afternoon's 3-1 away win over Port Vale, will be a free agent in the summer as he has yet to agree new terms in WS1.

The Saddlers board remain in discussions with the ten-goal former Fulham man and are hopeful of retaining his services as he and the club continue to battle for a place in the Play-Off and/ or promotion places.
