News and Views

Arriving at the match on the back of Saturday's one-all draw with Oldham Athletic, the Saddlers will be looking to avoid a return to their recent spell of defeats as they take on Morecambe at the Mazuma Stadium.

Darrell Clarke's side have been in frustrating form over recent weeks, as their four-game pre-Christmas winning streak was followed up by a trio of defeats, which resulted in the Reds slipping down the table.

Along with the welcome point the Saddlers have been further boosted by the news that attacking-midfielder Rory Holden is now expected to return by the end of February - the former Bristol City an initially being ruled out for the rest of the season before a recent examination.

Hopefully, the Saddlers will be able to add to their draw with Harry Kewell's Latics on Tuesday evening as there is still plenty to play for with half of the season still to go.

Opponents Morecambe saw a winning streak ended at four games at the weekend as fellow Play-Off chasers Leyton Orient grabbed two late goals, with Nathaniel Knight-Percival's 88th minute own goal being followed up by Lee Angol just two minutes later, to break Shrimps hearts.

Man in the Middle

The EFL has confirmed that Graham Salisbury, who is based in Lancashire, will be the man in the middle as Walsall look to build upon Saturday's one-all draw with Oldham Athletic.

Geoffrey Liddle and Joe Simpson have been named as assistant referees, whilst Conor Brown will act as Fourth Official.
