Match Stats: Tranmere Rovers 1 Walsall 3

Walsall were back in action on Saturday afternoon as they took on Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park.
After playing out a midweek draw with Stevenage - the returning Josh Gordon grabbing a late injury-time leveller - the Saddlers were back in action as they faced Keith Hill's in-form Tranmere Rovers in front of some 2,000 fans at Prenton Park.

Despite their recent run of wins, Rovers arriving at the game with five league wins on the bounce, the home side fell behind to Elijah Adebayo's sixth goal of the season after nineteen minutes of play.

The home side were however able to get back on level terms as Liam Feeney netted some twlve-minutes later. But that would be the only brightspot in an otherwise dismal afternoon for the hosts as the Saddlers went on to grab all three points.

After reaching the break all-square Walsall wasted no time in re-taking the lead as Wes McDonald netted just three minutes after play got back underway.

And the Saddlers weren't done there as central defender Dan Scarr opened his account for the season during the second forty-five as he poked home from Rory Holden's cross.
