Walsall Reject Burton Albion Bid For Josh Gordon

Walsall have turned down a bid for one of the club's first-team regulars.
Walsall FC have reportedly turned down a six-figure bid for striker Josh Gordon from League One outfit Burton Albion.

According to reports first published by the Express & Star, the bid, said to be around £100,000, was made late last week and immediately rejected by the club as they look to build upon last season's mid-table finish.

25-year-old Gordon joined the Saddlers on Deadline Day in the summer of 2018 and has gone on to establish himself in the first-team.

The former Leicester City prospect penned a three-year contract when joining the club so is currently in the final year of his deal.

Last season, Gordon found the net on twelve occasions, helping the Saddlers to stabilise following their relegation from League One the season before.

It is understood that the deal was not a one-off payment but was structured so that Walsall would receive £50,000 up front and the remaining £50,000 in add-ons.
