Walsall to Host Sheffield Wednesday in Round One of the Carabao Cup

Walsall's Carabao Cup opponents have been confirmed.

Following the draw for Round One of this season's Carabao Cup we now know that the Saddlers will play host to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday with the tie set to be played on or around Saturday, 5th September.

The Saddlers last faced The Owls during the 2011/12 season which saw a 2-2 draw at Hillsborough and a dramatic 2-1 victory at the Banks’s Stadium.

Darrell Clarke’s side will be hoping to improve on last season’s Carabao Cup campaign that saw them bow out in the opening round against Crawley Town.
