Walsall Set For a Busy Start to the 2020/21 Campaign

The Saddlers are set to play multiple games during the first seven days of the 2020/21 campaign.
After months of inactivity Walsall are facing a busy fixture schedule as the EFL look to squeeze in all of their competitions at the beginning of the 2020/21 campaign.

Darrell Clarke's side will play three games, Round One of the Carabao Cup, a group game in the EFL Trophy and their opening League Two clash all within the same week in early September.

Following a six-month break thanks to Covid-10 the Saddlers will be thrown straight in at the deep end and will need to be at their best if they are to make the most of a busy opening few weeks.

Round One of the Carabao Cup, which will be drawn alongside that of the EFL Trophy on Tuesday, 18th August, will take place on Saturday, 5th September with Rounds Two, Three and Four set to take place in mid-week during the remainder of the month.

The first group game of the EFL Trophy campaign will then take place on either Tuesday, 8th or Wednesday 9th September with the League Two season set to start on Saturday, 12th meaning the Saddlers Walsall will play three games during the opening week of the season.

If Clarke's side manage to progress to Round Four of the Carabao Cup they will face eight games in just four weeks during the opening month of the season, something of a hectic schedule following months of inactivity.
