EFL Statement: Season 2020/21 Start Date Confirmed

Following many months of discussion, votes and speculation the EFL has today confirmed the start date for the 2020/21 season, with clubs in the three tiers now able to plan for the future.
As the 2019/20 EFL League One and League Two campaigns were ultimately curtailed - the Championship played to a conclusion earlier this week - clubs in the bottom two tiers of the EFL have been made to wait before stakeholders came to a decision.

Released via the EFL's official website, the statement confirms; The EFL can confirm that the 2020/21 Season will get underway across the Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two on the weekend of 12 September.

The 2020/21 season will conclude on the 8 and 9 May 2021, with the Sky Bet Play-Off Finals reverting back to the Spring Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May.

Work is currently underway in respect of fixture scheduling and details will be announced in due course as to when full fixture lists for 2020/21 will be made available.
