Departing Players Wish Walsall a Fond Farewell

Following the publication of Walsall's Released and Retained list on Tuesday evening, several players have taken to social media to bid the club a fond farewell.
Among the players leaving at the end of the month are loanees Jack Rose, Cameron Pring, Nathan Sheron and Rory Holden, along with the soon to be out-of-contract Shay Facey, Kory Roberts, Gary Liddle, James Hardy and Mitchel Candlin.

Goalkeeper Rose, who joined the Saddlers on a season-long loan from Southampton, took to Twitter and said; "Thanks to everyone at Walsall FC, enjoyed every minute there and met some great people, hopefully will meet again in the future, all the best."

On-loan Bristol City defender Cameron Pring took to Instagram, and said; "Big thanks to everyone involved at Walsall FC, enjoyed my time with a great bunch of lads. Good luck in the future."

James Hardy, a former AFC Fylde midfielder who was Darrell Clarke's third signing last summer, said; "Thank you to everybody involved (at) Walsall FC, enjoyed my time there with a great set of lads! Good luck in the future."

Young striker Mitch Candlin, who made his way through the ranks in WS1 to make his first-team debut in April 2017, said; "Just like to say thanks to everyone at Walsall FC. My teammates, coaches and staff have helped me progressed as a person and as a player.

"Also a massive thank you to the fans for always showing love through both good and tough times. Wish the club the very best for the future."

Right-back Shay Facey was the first players to acknowledge his impending departure, saying, "I’d just like to say thank you to everybody (at) Walsall FC, my teammates, staff & supporters for your support during my short time at the club.

"I look forward to crossing paths again & I wish you All the best in the future!! See you around."
