Wes McDonald Among January's Goal of the Month Nominees

Walsall winger Wes McDonald has been named among the nominees for January's Sky Bet League Two Goal of the Month Award.
Wes has been nominated for his sensational match-winning strike against Crawley Town, which took place at Banks's Stadium on Saturday, 18th January and saw the Saddlers bounce back from a disappointing defeat to Cheltenham Town.

Wes' 88th minute strike is one of three nominees hoping to scoop the award with Colchester United's Callum Harriott and Macclesfield Town forward Arthur Gnahoua also up for the award.

Goal of the Month Niominees
Callum Harriott – COLCHESTER UNITED v Macclesfield – 18th January
When Harriott collected the ball, there was nothing on. That was until he accelerated, drove into space and unleashed a wickedly disguised, dipping piledriver into the far top corner.

Wes McDonald – WALSALL v Crawley Town – 18th January
With time running out, Walsall needed a hero. Step forward, McDonald, jinking in from the touchline with the ball tied to his feet to deliver a searing, looping winner in off the crossbar.

Arthur Gnahoua – MACCLESFIELD TOWN v Forest Green Rovers – 25th January
Some goals come once in a career. So, it was with Gnahoua’s exquisitely dipping, rapier-like 30-yard volley which followed a clever touch to lift the ball sideways away from a defender.

Voting is now open and closes on Tuesday, 11th February at 5.30pm with all winners due to be announced on Friday, 14th February.

The winners of the Sky Bet EFL Goals of the Month are chosen by a fan poll on skysports.com with the shortlist for the poll decided by a judging panel following suggestions from supporters via Twitter.

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, Sky Bet Sponsorship Executive Matt Goodwin and EFL Senior Media Manager Rob Meaden.
