Loan Watch: Saturday, 14th December 2019

Here we take our regular look at how the Saddlers' young prospects are doing as they look to force their way into the club's first-team plans.
Darrell Clarke has opted to loan out young defenders Tom Leak and Luke Little along with striker Mitchel Candlin out as the highly rated prospects get a shot at some much-needed first-team football.

Tom Leak remains with BetVictor Southern League Premier Division South side Salisbury, having recently re-joined the Raymond McEnhill Stadium outfit for a second spell on loan until Saturday, 11th January 2020.

Tom continued his spell in the starting XI as he was named in the Whites which faced an away trip to Eastbourne Borough's Priory Lane  for the First Round proper of the Buildbase FA Trophy.

The match would ultimately end in a two-all draw as goals from Toby Holmes (9') and a Manny Adebowale own goal on the stroke of half-time were enough to cancel out efforts by Dean Cox (7') and Charlie Walker (20') and send the match to a midweek replay, which will take place on Tuesday evening.

Luke Little remains on loan with BetVictor Southern Premier Division Central side Tamworth as the former scholar continues to make the most of his first spell of first-team football but was not in action as many teams competed in the FA Trophy.

Mitchel Candlin's stay at Liberty Way with BetVictor Southern League Central Division side Nuneaton Borough continues but Mitch wasn't named in the Boro team which travelled to Kirkby Road and took on Barwell on Saturday afternoon.

The Boro would go on to win the match by one-goal-to-nil as David Bremang slotted home just before half-time, the single goal proving to be enough to take the win and three welcome points for Jimmy Ginnelly's side.
