Elijah Adebayo's third goal of the season proved to be enough to secure all three points for Darrell Clarke's Saddlers as they inflicted Vale first home league defeat of the season to move away from the League Two relegation zone.

Clarke admitted that, despite the result, he was a little disappointed with his teams' use of the ball, as the display wasn't on a par with the midweek EFL Trophy Triumph over Chelsea U21s.

Mansfield-born Clarke welcomed the points and praised the fans as his side earned a welcome win to ease some of the pressure on their shoulders as the tough games continue well into the new year.
