Here we take our regular look at how the Saddlers' young prospects are doing as they look to force their way into the club's first-team plans.
First-team manager Darrell Clarke has opted to loan young defender Tom Leak and striker Mitchel Candlin out as the highly rated prospects get a shot at some much-needed first-team football.

Central defender Tom Leak is enjoying a spell with BetVictor Southern League Premier Division South side Salisbury, having joined the Raymond McEnhill Stadium side on a one-month loan deal earlier this month.

Following on from last weekend's 3-1 victory over Harrow Borough the Whites made the lengthy trip to Penydarren Park where they faced Merthyr Town as they looked to continue their good spell of form.

Sadly for Salisbury they were unable to add another victory to their list of results but did manage to snatch a late point as the experienced Leroy Lita left it late to cancel out Eliot Richards' early opener as he struck in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time.

A welcome point for Steve Claridge's Salisbury who now look ahead to their FA Trophy - First Qualifying Round clash with Dorchester Town on Saturday afternoon.

Mitchel Candlin, who is currently with BetVictor Southern League Central Division side Nuneaton Borough, continued his spell on the sidelines as the Boro narrowly defeated Coventry Sphinx in the Birmingham FA's Senior Challenge Cup.

A goal from former Manchester City prospect Alex Henshall enough to see the Liberty Way side safely through to the next round.

Nuneaton are next in action on Saturday afternoon as they take on Stourbridge in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy.
