Crawley Town 'Piledriver' Sees Clarke Up For Goal of the Month

A superb strike by Walsall captain James Clarke has been listed among the nominees for September's Sky Bet League Two 'Goal of the Month'.
Clarke, who is included on the three man shortlist alongside Conor Grant of Plymouth Argyle and Swindon Town's Eoin Doyle, netted two spectacular goals during the month of September including a bicycle-kick against Scunthorpe United.

Crawley's defenders didn't hurry to close down a central defender 30 yards out from goal. They should have, as Clarke unleashed a piledriver that was still rising as it struck the net.

However, it's the long-range goal against Crawley Town which has seen the 29-year-old nominated, with Sky Sports describing the 30-yarder as a 'piledriver'.

The winner of the competition is chosen by fans who can vote through the Sky Sports website up until 5pm on Tuesday, 15th October with the winner set to be announced on Friday, 18th October.
