Darrell Clarke Hopes to Add 'Three or Four' More Players to His Squad

With the 2019/20 League Two campaign set to get underway in less than two weeks' time, Walsall manager Darrell Clarke has spoken to the local press and insisted that he has around fifteen players capable of making the team a 'force' in the fourth tier next season.
Clarke has overseen a major squad overhaul since replacing Dean Keates at the helm earlier this summer - adding eleven players to his rebuilt squad - but the Mansfield-born gaffer believes that he still needs to secure three or four more additions for his side to truly compete for the top of the tree.

Speaking to the Express & Star's Walsall correspondent Joseph Masi, Darrell said; "I think when you look at all the pre-season games – when you look at what I’d call my first eleven to a certain extent – we have probably got 14 or 15 players that I am comfortable can handle League Two as a force.

"We need to add three or four more players to that. Then I think we will be in pretty good shape too be honest. So we’ll see where we are on September 3rd."
