Walsall Will Travel Almost 5,000 Miles Next Season

According to statistics compiled by the Twitter page @EFLStats, Darrell Clarke's Walsall will travel the shortest combined distance for their twenty-three awaydays during their upcoming Sky Bet League Two campaign.
Not including the various cup competitions, the Saddlers, who will be playing outside of League One for the first time in over a decade following last season's relegation to League Two, will travel just 4,952 miles over the course of the campaign, visiting clubs such as Carlisle United, Exeter City, and Plymouth Argyle.

Near-rivals Port Vale will travel the second shortest distance with 5,312 miles on the clock, whilst Mal Benning's Mansfield Town will rack up 5,395 miles during their campaign.

Plymouth, who joined the Saddlers in swapping League One for League Two alongside Bradford City (6,588 miles) and Scunthorpe United (6,585 miles), will travel the greatest distance with the Pilgrims facing 11,280 miles as they look to return to the third tier at the first time of asking.

Newly promoted National League champions Leyton Orient will travel 7,144 miles whilst Play-Off winners Salford City will put 6,228 miles on the clock as they enjoy their first season in the EFL.
