Dean Keates: 'We Need to Be at Our Best to Give Ourselves a Chance'

Walsall manager Dean Keates has spoken ahead of this afternoon's Sky Bet League One clash with Coventry City and urged his side to show some of the fight they displayed during the recent Emirates FA Cup victory over the Sky Blues as they welcome them to Banks's Stadium this afternoon.
Keates, who has seen his side go winless in their last five league outings, went on to push his side to give everything they've got as they look to build upon recent improved performances and secure three much-needed points with a view to getting back among the teams battling it out for a place in the Play-Off places.

Dean, who was speaking via the club's official website - www.Saddlers.co.uk - said; "We have had the two cups, the FA Cup and the Checkatrade Trophy and we are now back into the league. We are back to our bread and butter really.

"It sort of helps on the side that you will know a lot about each other but it’ll be the same for both camps, we just have to get on with it. It was a good game, it was a typical FA Cup tie. There was a great atmosphere and we got the right result in the end.

"All being well, we will be able to get the same result tomorrow. We will do our best to get the same result. All we ask of the lads is that they give an honest performance, give 110% and if they can do that then we will give ourselves a good opportunity to get all three points.

"We have always been competitive this season. When we haven’t been at it, we haven’t picked up any points. When we are at our best, we always give ourselves a chance."
