Walsall to Hold Service of Dedication at Banks's Stadium

Walsall Football Club have confirmed that they will be holding their first-ever 'service of dedication' to celebrate the lives of some of the club legends who represented the club both on and off the pitch.
The club confirmed that, following dialogue with the Walsall Football Supporters’ Trust, they have produced memorial bricks for eighteen former players, directors and club officials to be placed into the Memorial Wall outside the Main Entrance on Saturday.

The families of the recipients have been invited to a small dedication service, where Club Chaplain, and former Saddlers player, Peter Hart will say some words.

Families being represented on Saturday, are; Jack Bridgett, Albert McPherson, Matt Gadsby, Bert Williams, Dave Robinson, Ian Handysides, George Meek, Granville Palin, David Preece, Geoff Morris, Ken Hodgkinson, Brian Taylor, Willie Penman, Clive Welch (Director), Horace Brisbourne (Club Official) and Lester Welch.

The club have also confirmed that from now on, any former player who passes away having made at least one-hundred appearances for the club will automatically have a brick placed into the Memorial Wall.
