Jack Fitzwater: Walsall Working Hard to Secure More Clean Sheets

Walsall's on-loan West Brom defender Jack Fitzwater has spoken ahead of Saturday's League One clash with Accrington Stanley, and discussed his desire to see the Saddlers secure more clean sheets and build upon their strong start to the season.
Walsall have secured just one clean sheet in the league so far this season and have developed a habit of conceding late goals, a habit which has seen them ship five goals in the final fifteen minutes of play already this season, something which has to end of they are to continue to prove their doubters wrong.

Fitzwater, who returned to the club on a season-long loan following a successful spell last season, believes that the whole squad is pulling in the right direction, with manager Dean Keates trying to get his side to work together and help each other out of sticky situations.

Jack, who was speaking via the Express & Star, said; "We want more clean sheets. I do think they will come because everyone is fighting for the shirt – I think the fans can see that.

"But we do need to cut out these late goals because at the minute it seems to keep happening and keep happening. The gaffer has got this thing where he tells us; 'If someone makes a mistake – you be the person to get them out of it'.

"If someone makes a mistake you’ve got to get him out it. We are all close and we are all in it together. We just need to keep a few more clean sheets. It will come, it’s just going to take a little bit of time."
