Walsall Defender Dan Vann Set to Go Back Out on Loan

Walsall manager Dean Keates has confirmed that young Saddlers defender Dan Vann, who recently returned from a brief loan spell with Northern Premier League - Premier Division side Matlock Town, will be loaned out again as he seeks first-team football.
19-year-old, Solihull-born Dann, who joined Matlock on an initial one-month loan at the end of August, saw his spell cut short as recently-appointed manager Dave Frecklington opted to sign several new players in a bid to halt a terrible start to the season which saw the Gladiators suffer six defeats in a row.

Frecklington, who replaced Dave Hoole at the helm, seemed unlikely to select Vann as he looked to establish his own style and squad on the side and Walsall boss Keates didn't see why the young defender should travel to matches if he wasn't going to be involved.

Keates, who was speaking via the Express & Star, said; "Dan went to Matlock and played a few games but it was only ever going to be short-term thing because they had a lot of injuries.

"But there has been a managerial change there and the new man has brought in four players already. I don’t see any reason why Dan needs to be driving up there and not being involved.

"All being well we will get him out on loan elsewhere. But playing those few games will have helped him."
