Morgan Ferrier: Walsall Motivated By Underdog Status

Walsall striker Morgan Ferrier has spoken to the local press and admitted that he and his teammates are relishing being classed as underdogs, revealing that they are going into each game with a chip on their shoulder, keen to prove the doubters wrong.
The Saddlers were widely tipped to struggle at the start of the campaign, but are yet to taste defeat so far this season, and have already booked a place in the second stage of the Carabao Cup, putting them among the form sides in the 92.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Morgan said; "It’s no secret, from the start of the season, we have been looked upon as underdogs. And we are taking that into every game, we are going into matches with a bit of a chip on our shoulder.

"We have started well but every day we come in and we have got the same mindset – we have all got a goal we want to achieve. It starts from the gaffer, he never lets us get complacent. And we are all determined to do the best we can for the fans and the club."
