Dylan Parker Makes Professional Debut

Young Walsall striker Dylan Parker made his professional debut during Tuesday evening's Carabao Cup - Round Two penalty shoot-out defeat to Macclesfield Town.
18-year-old Parker, who recently put pen-to-paper on a short-term professional deal, joined the Saddlers on trial last season and soon earned a brief scholarship before penning pro-terms at the end of the campaign.

Dylan - a former Stratford Town prospect who forms part of John Ward's development side - took to the field during the closing stages of the Saddlers' disappointing Cup defeat to the Silkmen, replacing summer signing Josh Gordon and earning several minutes of action.

The result wasn't one we'd hoped to secure but, as manager Dean Keates mentioned during his post-match musings, there were plenty of positives to take, not least the dawn of another professional career.
