Dean Keates: Bakayoko Departure Gives Me Transfer Market Freedom

Walsall manager Dean Keates has spoken to the local press and admitted that Amadou Bakayoko's recent transfer to Coventry City, which saw the Sierra leone-born striker pen a two-year deal at the Ricoh Arena, gives him more options when it comes to adding players to his squad ahead of Thursday's Transfer Deadline.
The gaffer, who will still be able to sign players on loan until the end of the month, has already added several new signings to his squad over the summer, but remains keen to boost the number of players at his disposal, especially in attack.

Dean, who was speaking to the Express & Star's Saddlers correspondent Joseph Masi, admitted that it was a little strange having to work to two different transfer deadlines, he said; "It's a bit strange there are two windows. But we are pressing on and are hopeful we can get one or two in ahead of Thursday's deadline. Ama's move gives us a little bit more freedom with one or two. There were still targets there. I had options based on what Ama decided.

"We added Morgan last week and Ama could have turned the deal down and if he had he would have come back in. We are pressing on but there is still the option to go for the out of contract players and loan players until the end of August so is it actually a transfer window?"
