Keates Confirms Kory Roberts Has Undergone Operation on Broken Leg

Walsall manager Dean Keates has spoken to the local press and confirmed that young defender Kory Roberts, who suffered a double leg fracture during last weekend's pre-season defeat to Stoke City, has had surgery as he begins on the long road to recovery.
20-year-old, Birmingham-born Roberts, who looked set to play a major role in Walsall FC's 2018/19 campaign, suffered the injury during the second-half of the defeat to the Potters after he fell awkwardly following a challenge with Stoke defender Ryan Sweeney.

Kory is now expected to miss all of the coming campaign with Head of Medical Marc Czuczman set to be spending plenty of time with the highly-rated prospect as he works towards a return to fitness.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Dean confirmed; "I went to see him on Saturday. He had his operation on Monday afternoon and it’s gone as well as it can. The lad has got a long journey ahead of him but we will gather round him and support him through it."
