23-year-old Egert began his career as an apprentice with Bohemians 1905 and Slovan Liberec before turning professional with the later in 2014. He made just one professional appearance for Slovan but did enjoy loan spells with Spartak Trnava II, FK Slavoj Vyšehrad, FK Viktoria Žižkov, and Slavoj Vyšehrad, making over forty first-team appearances.
After moving to England to study Sports Management in 2018 he penned a short-term deal with then-Championship side Burton Albion and would go on to make his first-team debut just a day later as the Brewers took on Wolverhampton Wanderers. He was invited to join up with the Brewers for pre-season but is understood to be back on the market in search of a club.
