Carabao Cup: Walsall Drawn Away From Home

The draw for the First Round of this season's Carabao Cup competition was held at the Independence Palace in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam earlier this morning and saw Dean Keates' Saddlers, who were strangely placed in the Northern section of the drawn away from home.
The Saddlers, who exited last season's competition at the First Round stage after losing to Sheffield United by three-goals-to-two at Bramall Lane, will travel to the Wirral where they will take on Tranmere Rovers, with the fixture due to take place during the week commencing Monday, 13th August 2018.

The fixture will allow new recruits Andy Cook and Josh Ginnelly to return to Prenton Park for the first time since helping the SuperWhites achieve promotion back to the EFL after defeating Boreham Wood in the Vanarama National League Play-Off Final in May.

Ticket information will be released in due course.
