Sky Bet League One: Monday, 2nd April 2018

With Dean Keates' Saddlers not in action following the postponement of their League One clash with Bradford City, attention turned to the other sides facing off on Monday afternoon.
Several of the teams also battling against relegation were in action on Easter Monday, with the likes of MK Dons, Northampton Town and Oldham Athletic all looking to steal a march on Keates' struggling side.

Sky Bet League One: Results
Charlton Athletic 3 Rotherham United 1
Fleetwood Town 2 Bristol Rovers 0
MK Dons 1 Blackburn Rovers 2
Oldham Athletic 2 Blackpool 1
Peterborough United 2 Northampton Town 0
Portsmouth 2 Wigan Athletic 1
Shrewsbury Town 3 Oxford United 2
Southend United 4 Gillingham 0

Without doubt the biggest result to come out of the afternoon's matches was Oldham Athletic's victory over Blackpool. The win secured with second-half goals from Jack Byrne and Eoin Doyle as the Latics moved themselves out of the dropzone and to within one point of the Saddlers.

As a result of Oldham's win Walsall are now just two points above the drop zone, though they remained in eighteenth position. With just seven games remaining and after suffering six defeats in their last seven league outings, they will have to pick up points very soon if they are to avoid being dragged further into trouble.
