Dean Keates Doesn't Want to Dwell on Defeat

Walsall manager Dean Keates has spoken to the press ahead of this weekend's League One clash with Scunthorpe United and admitted that his side need to learn from last Saturday's disappointing defeat to AFC Wimbledon as they seek to return to winning ways this weekend.
Keates, who is set to take charge of his sixth game as Saddlers manager, insisted that this is not the time to pick on individuals as everyone knows what went wrong and it is now up to them to make things right.

Dean, speaking via the Express & Star, said; "The lads know what they have done wrong – it didn’t need too much highlighting from myself. You don’t go for character assassination when you look back at games and analyse them. You try and point out what needs to be done better. For me, I always start at the point where we last had control of the ball.

"It’s not just about the mistake that has ultimately led to the ball going into the back of our net, it’s where we have had control of the ball last. They are the mistakes that I try and trace back so I can see how it’s ended up in us conceding a goal."
